What is the difference between the Afterschool Plus™ and the Homeschool Pro™ memberships?
Both programs grant unlimited access to all our online classes and extracurricular activities, as well as many student tools to help your kids succeed, such as a student ID, school email account, JuniorFolio™, and a lot more.
The main difference between the two programs is that Afterschool Plus™ is meant to enrich a kid's regular/public school experience, while Homeschool Pro™ is for kids who are homeschooling and includes full homeschool support such as a homeschool curriculum, form preparation and college application assistance, transcripts, homeschool advisor, and more. What age is this for?
Our programs are great for all school-aged children (ages 5-17).
When can I enroll?
You can enroll all year round, even in the middle of the school year, and your children can start taking advantage of the program immediately! We have hundreds of classes available, and they can be taken any time and on the student's own schedule and pace. Do I need to purchase a separate membership for each sibling?
No. Unlike many other programs that require you to pay a separate fee for each kid, at RLS one membership covers all kids in the family!
It can be either. You can use our curriculum as your primary, standalone curriculum, or you can use it to supplement any other platform which you are already using, giving your kids access to hundreds of new classes and electives to explore so that they can find classes they are passionate about, and get the best education.
Do my kids get a student ID?
Yes! With the membership, all kids get a RemoteLearning.school student ID card, which can be used for student discounts, alternative form of identification, proof of enrollment, and more. We will also partner with major retailers
that will offer exclusive discounts to bearers of our student ID card. Parents have reported saving hundreds of dollars a year on software and many products and services for their kids using the RemoteLearning.school student ID and/or school email account.
Do my kids get a school email address?
Yes! With the membership, your kid will get a @RemoteLearning.school email address with 100mb of storage, strong spam and privacy protections, as well as parental monitors. Parents have reported that their kids enjoy using their email address to talk to their relatives and to submit schoolwork. The email account can also be used to verify their current status as a student and receive hundreds of dollars off in discounted student software and other products when purchasing online through a store that offers student discounts.
Of course, if you feel your kids are not ready yet to have their own email address, they don't need to use it.

How is privacy enforced?
The student's privacy and safety are of utmost importance to us. Classes are not real-time, they are pre-recorded and the student can take the classes
whenever they want, just as if they are watching a video on YouTube. Other students have no visibility to your student's sessions.
Are the classes taken at specific times? Is there a schedule?
We know different families have different schedules, so classes are pre-recorded can be taken at any time and on student's own schedule.
What do the classes consist of?
Lessons consist of class videos, text and graphic presentations, quizzes, simulations, and more.
Can I enroll if I am outside the USA?
Yes, we have many international families using our programs from all over the world including Canada, Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia. Many foreign service members from the USA also use our program from abroad to help get a high-quality education for their kids in countries where such is not available.
Who created the lessons?
Lessons are created by credentialed teachers or experienced tutors.
Do I need to be with my kids to help them with the lessons?
Our lessons are pretty intuitive to complete, and kids should have no problem completing them on their own. For younger kids (K-1), we recommend you do the lessons with them at the beginning,
but our tests show that even the youngest learners got used to the lessons interface and could complete them on their own.
I read there are musical instrument classes. How can that be done online?
Because of COVID-19, many types of lessons that traditionally were done in person, are now done online and tutors have adapted their teaching methods for online teaching.
Do you offer second language courses?
Yes! We offer several choices to encourage kids to become multilingual. Currently, we offer French, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and ASLNEW, with more languages to come. We believe all children deserve to learn a second language! Learning a second language at a young age contributes to cognitive and social-emotional development, and accelerates learning. Bilingual children learn faster and easier, have improved problem-solving skills and creativity, and have more career opportunities in adulthood.
Can I suggest a new elective class?
We are always expanding our curriculum, and if your kids have a particular elective they would be interested in, please let us know. In fact, many of our electives were added after being initially proposed by the parents, as well as upon recommendation of our Youth Advisory Board.
Do I have to pay a separate fee to enroll my kids in each class?
No. Your membership includes full access to all current and future classes.

Learners can choose to participate in our Kid's Club for some online social and gaming activities! Be a part of the school's gaming clans, Roblox group, hobby clubs, and more! We are also planning appearances by celebrity YouTubers!
What is the school magazine?
We publish a monthly magazine for learners to stay caught up with what's happening in the world in a kid friendly way. Kids can submit their own articles to the magazine to be published!
